Coordinate

Tip One: mix patterns & prints as well as soilds and textures- If going with a solid color try to find something with some sort of texture. Long dresses and maxi skirts are amazing for almost all moms! You can move freely (we'll be doing a lot of that), they're flattering, they add movement. But of course we want you to be comfortable, so whatever you end up wanting to go with let's be sure and add texture to it! For mom's hair I usually suggest wearing it down, half pinned, or adding braids. I can help no matter what part your looking at! All you need to keep in mind is Coordinate off mom, and DONT Do matchy matchy. It doesnt look Great- and we want you to look GREAT!

Layering

Cardigans, knee high socks for girls with shorter dresses, suspenders for boys (can hang or be on shoulders), cute brim hats, etc. For jewelry, rings and bracelets are great! They add detail to hands and I love getting up close shots (side note: don't forget to cut you kids nails if needed and take off chipped polish)! Try and avoid real long necklaces because they can get caught on tops and then not lay right or snag.

What to avoid

Tennis shoes, flip flops, crocks, etc. Baby toes are also better than baby shoes (unless the weather gives the need for shoes/socks)! Try to keep dad in pants, not shorts, and no ball caps if we can avoid it. Too big of clothing (I know us mom's like to purchase things with grow room, but items clearly too big don't look well in photos). Get bloomers if diapers will show. No giant bows, they cause shadows on cute faces. Don't have logos. Colors to avoid would be anything neon and corals. Teals need to be a more muted/earthy shade.
